"Orchistra" presents a biological world untouched by human interference, populated by lifeforms whose behaviors and habitat may be engaged through scientific reasoning, contemplative observation, or a purely aesthetic appreciation. Morphology is ambiguous, scale is uncertain, yet our collected knowledge of nature's semiotics allows us to discern the hints of an ecosystem, and function is alluded to through visible structure. This space, and its actors, are unconcerned with our politics, preferences, ethics and plans. Here is a beauty in the apathy of the other, which simply needs to live.
